“Thus it is necessary to pass on something worthwhile to the generations to come, sound rules for behavior, and to point out lofty objectives to which to direct decisively their existence. There is a growing demand for an education that can answer the expectations of youth; an education that is primarily a testimony and, for the Christian educator, a witness of faith.”                  - Pope Benedict XVI

Rooted in the Catholic Faith

Holy Cross Academy pledges fidelity to the Magisterium of the Church, and the daily life of the teachers and students revolves around the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.  Students have frequent opportunities to attend Mass, to receive the sacrament of Penance, and to participate in the many devotions and liturgical celebrations of the Church.

A Rigorous & Balanced Academic Program

Students are whole persons – mind, body and soul – and a balanced formation of all aspects of the person is essential.  The academic program focuses on critical thinking and writing, analytical skills, and the harmony between Faith and reason, while instilling in students an appreciation for the rich culture and tradition of the Catholic Church.  Each subject exposes them to the classic authors and works that have highly influenced Western Culture.

A Culture of Excellence

Small class sizes ensure individual attention and greatly enhance the learning experience of every student, and the family atmosphere at Holy Cross Academy motivates both teachers and students to give their best effort in and out of the classroom.  Students follow a professional dress code and a code of conduct that encourages them to respect themselves, each other, and the noble task of learning.  Holy Cross Academy students consistently score above the national average on the SAT, and above the state average on the New York State Regents Examinations.

"It is essential for the Catholic family to grow in a Christian mentality and preserve its Catholic identity, and this is strengthened through participation in a truly Catholic Community. You will find such a community here at Holy Cross. It is an extension of the family joining those with common tradition, beliefs, and goals." - Daniel Miller, Founder

"At Holy Cross Academy, all subject matter is unified through its foundation in the truth, enlightened by the Catholic Faith. We recognize that students are whole persons - mind, body and soul, and that a balanced formation of all aspects of the person is essential.   Students learn to develop as rational beings: how to reason, think logically and make sound judgments in all aspects of life. They also learn to develop as spiritual beings: how to make correct moral decisions, grow closer to God and develop a deeper love for the Faith, the Sacraments, and their neighbor.  There are many opportunities to put what is learned into practice through fun, prayer, and charitable works."  - Margaret Miller - Founder

Our vision is to provide a unique opportunity for our youth; an opportunity to develop into the future leaders of the community, of the Church, and of their families. Holy Cross believes that our greatest treasure and greatest gift to the future is our children. The work accomplished today will generate the fruits and rewards of tomorrow.  - Teri Maciag, Founder

"Youth make up an exceptional potential and a great challenge for the future of the Church.  In fact the Church sees her path towards the future in the youth, beholding in them a reflection of herself and her call to that blessed youthfulness which she constantly enjoys as a result of Christ’s Spirit.  In this sense youth are 'the hope of the Church.' "

- Pope JOHN PAUL II - Christifideles Laici
